Locking, opening and shutting mechanism for car-boot lid

The lid works against a loading edge formed on the boot, the lock (4) having a lock plate (5), catches (6,7), a lever (8) opening the arrester catch (7), and a second lever (9) pulling the lid to. On shutting, a locking member (10) on the lid engages in the rotary catch (6), moving it towards the shut position, this catch and the second lever being mounted coaxially on the lock plate. The arrester catch is mounted on the second lever and parallel to its axis, being thus eccentric to the rotary catch. The opening lever (8) is mounted on the second one below the arresting catch, having arms (8a,8b) extending towards and away from the latter. A link (14) with return spring (13) is mounted on the lock plate on an axis parallel to those o the catches and second lever, and has an opening-lever pin (15).
