<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute an audio CD reproducing in the correspondent power saving mode by checking the operation of the driving motor of a CD-ROM at the time of executing power saving mode and discriminating whether the CD is being reproduced or not. SOLUTION: This method is applied to the computer system which is provided with a CD-ROM drive and a power saving control section, and has first through forth steps. The section generates a control signal in the first step S100 if the system is not used for a certain time or above. If the signal is generated in the first step, the second step S200 discriminates the presence or the absence of the operation of the CD-ROM drive. If the drive is in the stop condition in the second step, the third step S300 controls a power supply section, turns off the power and the forth step S400 turns off the power of the system other than the devices related to the CD-ROM drive, if the drive is in the operating condition in the second step.</p> |
