FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: rotary internal combustion engine has fixed cylindrical housing 12 accommodating cylindrical stator 26 with cylindrical rotor 28 placed in between. Rotor connected with power takeoff shaft 32 has at least two radially arranged cylinders 34, 36, 38. Cylinders displaced from each other along axis of rotor rotation form compression cylinders 34 and working cylinders 36, 38 of engine. Spherical piston 42, 44, 46 is installed for rotation and reciprocating in each cylinder. Pistons engage with pair of edges A, B of guide path made in housing. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and increased service life of engine or machine owing to provision of uniform movement of pistons. 10 cl, 11 dwg
