The invention relates to a guitar (1) which has a detachable body support (2 ) and a flat, narrow, body (3) which supports the strings (4) of the guitar (1 ). The detachable body support (2) is composed of several shaped, rigid, rod- shaped supporting elements assembled to form a stabile, frame-shaped body support (2). The body support (2, 18) is fastened to the ready to play body (3) with detachable connections and projects beyond the end of the body (3) in order to place the picking position of the guitar (1) at the ergonomically correct position in relation to the body support (2).
