Data processing system for automatic implementation of Internet auctions has an intermediary server (8) with a program control unit. The latter serves to extract product description data from a supplier server connected to the Internet and to insert auction records (10-13) in an auction database (3) of an auction server (2). Contract data records (17) are also created that relate to the auction records and include customer data for the auction winners. An independent claim is made for a method for implementing Internet auctions.
