TIMING CHAIN SUPPORTING STRUCTURE OF ENGINE, WHICH IS CAPABLE OF REPRESSING ARTIFICIALLY VERTICAL MOVEMENT OF TIMING CHAIN ADJACENT TO CAMSHAFT SPROCKET

PURPOSE: A timing chain supporting structure of an engine is provided to reduce abnormal engagement and noise generated between a timing chain and a camshaft sprocket in driving the camshaft sprocket and to improve durability of parts by repressing artificially vertical movement of the timing chain adjacent to the camshaft sprocket. CONSTITUTION: A timing chain supporting structure of an engine is composed of a timing chain(14) and a chain guide(16). The timing chain is installed between a crankshaft sprocket(10) and a camshaft sprocket(12) to interlock the rotation of a camshaft with the rotation of the crankshaft for periodical openings and closings of intake/exhaust valves. The chain guide represses the vertical movement of the timing chain by guiding movement of the timing chain near the camshaft sprocket. The chain guide is mounted between camshaft sprockets for intake and exhaust, respectively.
