PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material conveyance device capable of conveying various recording materials with high precision. SOLUTION: An exposure conveyance device 30 is composed of a guide plate 31 having slopes on both end sides, exposure conveyance rollers 32, 33 for transmitting conveyance force to a recording sheet 28 by utilizing elastic force of the recording sheet 28 bent along the slopes, and a shift mechanism 34 for moving the exposure conveyance rollers 32, 33 in the vertical direction in the Figure. A user inputs the type of recording paper of the recording sheet 28 from a recording paper type input part 49 when mounting a paper magazine. A system controller 47 obtains specified interval distance based on the inputted type of recording paper from interval information LUT48. It drives a motor 44 by generating driving pulse corresponding to the specified interval distance and displaces the exposure conveyance rollers 32, 33 in the directions of arrow marks B1, B2. Consequently, proper interval G1 for the recording sheet 28 is formed, and conveyance load of the recording sheet 28 becomes constant. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
