PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent interference of a knee of a passenger with a steering shaft in collision by structuring to let the steering shaft go upward in the collision. SOLUTION: This steering device support structure is provided with the steering shaft supported by a car body through an inner panel member 6 extended in the car cross direction to transmit steering force of a steering wheel to wheels. This steering device support structure is also provided with a first bracket 20 fixed to the inner panel member 6, a steering column 19 for rotatably supporting the steering shaft, second brackets 21 and 22 fixed to the steering column, and connecting means 23 and 24 for connecting the first bracket to the second bracket. The connecting means is structured so that the second bracket can be relatively displaced in the axial direction of the steering shaft in relation to the first bracket in the collision and that the second bracket is relatively displaced upward with the described relative displacement.
