PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid delivering device which carries out a suitable recovery action, and to provide a recovering method for performing the recovery action. SOLUTION: According to the recovering method, when the liquid delivering face is sealed with a cap member, a humidity in a sealed space is detected, and a recovery action mode is selected based on the detected humidity. Specifically, if the detected humidity is in a high humidity (90% or more) state, the device carries out a preliminary delivering action. On the other hand, if the detected humidity is in a low humidity state of less than 90%, an elapsed time from a last delivering or from a last recovery action is taken into consideration. That is, if the elapsed time is short, the device carries out the preliminary delivering, whereas if the elapsed time is long, a normal or strong sucking action is carried out.
