PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance safety in a DC/DC converter with a backup function. SOLUTION: A main circuit 10 generates a desired voltage by converting an output from a DC power supply 200. The backup circuit 40 is provided in the main circuit 10 in parallel. A control circuit 20 controls a main switch 112 in the main circuit 10 so as to maintain the output voltage at a target voltage during a normal operation. When an input voltage abnormality, an output voltage abnormality, and a temperature abnormality occur, the control circuit 20 stops the main circuit 10, and activates the backup circuit 40. When an output current abnormality occurs, the control circuit 20 stops the main circuit 10, and does not activate the backup circuit 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
