摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a honeycomb catalyst apparatus in which a new honeycomb catalyst having a double flow passage structure consisting of a monolithic honeycomb structure is used suitably. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb catalyst 2 has a double cylinder structure formed by an outside partition wall 11 and an inside partition wall 12 and comprises an outside catalyst 13 and an inside catalyst 14 each of which has a honeycomb structure. The upper end part of the inside partition wall 12 is projected from the edge of the outside partition wall 11 to form a sleeve part 12a. At the second edge 2b of the honeycomb catalyst, the edges of the partition walls 11, 12 and the catalysts 13, 14 are not projected from one another to form one flat plane. The honeycomb catalyst 2 is housed in an outer cylinder 4 while leaving a space 15 between the second edge 2b and a bottom plate 4c of the outer cylinder. A sealing material 16 is interposed between the outer cylinder 4 and the outside partition wall 11. A part of an inner cylinder 5 is housed in the outer cylinder 4 and one end part of the inner cylinder is fitted into the sleeve part 12a. A sealing material 17 is interposed between the inner cylinder 5 and the sleeve part 12a. The gas to be introduced into the inner cylinder 5 passes through the inside catalyst 14, turns back in the space 15, passes through the outside catalyst 13 and goes out from the outer cylinder 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
