A welding apparatus (1) for connecting sheets of overlapping sealing material, comprises a roller (2,2', 3) mounted chassis (4) with a heater (5) for local heating. The heater is located on the side of the chassis and can be placed between the seal material sheets. A press roller is located on the chassis and presses together the hot sheets. A second press roller (13) is also located on the chassis, is coupled to the drive axis (8), and can be interchanged. The chassis has a holder for the second press roller, which is located behind the first roller. The first roller is fixed to the drive axis using a screw. |
