The doorway for a motor vehicle bodywork has an upright with a sealing joint (5) against which the glazed window panel (1) can turn towards the interior of the vehicle in the closed position. Each upright has a guide ramp (32,33) to allow the slight spacing of the panel with respect to the joint in a sliding position of the panel and engagement when the panel is closed.
