PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the finish quality of a book by preventing the peeling of a cover and page missing from occurring in bookbinding by applying a heated adhesive to the back of a paper bundle and pasting the cover. SOLUTION: This bookbinding system has an image forming means, a recording paper bundle housing means, and a cover pasting means. In this case, the image forming means forms a manuscript toner image based on manuscript data on a recording paper. The recording paper bundle housing means stacks and aligns the recording paper on which the manuscript tone image has been formed, and forms a recording paper bundle. The cover pasting means pastes cover paper on the back of the recording paper bundle by using the adhesive which is heated by a heating means. A control means which controls the image forming means performs control in such a manner that the manuscript toner image based on the manuscript data may not be formed in the vicinity of the end of the back of the recording paper which constitutes the recording paper bundle.
