摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent having high microporosity and particularly a high micropore fraction and a high micropore volume with respect to a total micropore volume as well as having good mechanical stability and particularly high stability against exhaustion and rupture. SOLUTION: The high-loading adsorbent is characterized by particularly the shape of each spherical active carbon granule, wherein a Gurvitsch total micropore volume of at least 0.7 cm<SP>3</SP>/g and at least 70% of the total micropore volume is formed by micropores having a pore size of 20 angstroms or less; has a central tendency pore diameter of 30 angstroms or less; and a BET surface area parameter of at least 1,500 m<SP>2</SP>/g.
