PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental hand-piece without a risk of a burn even when the oral cavity of a patient or the fingers of an operator are pressed on a lid member by preventing a head-case lid member from being pressed downward while the hand-piece is being used. SOLUTION: The dental hand-piece comprises a rotary tube 30; an upper lid member 20 inside a head case; a chuck tube 40; a chuck opening/closing member 50 for opening/closing the chuck tube; the head-case lid member 60 rotatably disposed at the top of the head case; and a spring member 70 interposed between the upper lid member 20 inside the head case and the head-case lid member 60 to push the head-case lid member 60 upward. The chuck tube 40 is opened via the chuck opening/closing member 50 by pressing the head-case lid member 60 downward against the spring member 70. The upper lid member 20 inside the head case and the head-case lid member 60 can open the chuck tube 40 only at a prescribed position in the circumferential direction of the head-case lid member 60 by pressing the head-case lid member 60 downward.
