PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a spacer capable of forming a spacer with high aspect ratio easily and with high precision, and capable of increasing use efficiency of a material, a manufacturing method of an image display device, and a spacer forming device. SOLUTION: This is the manufacturing method of the spacer used for an image display device. A spacer forming material is injected from a dispenser 38 at a spacer forming position of a forming object, the dispenser is pulled up in a separation direction from the forming object in a state of contacting the injected spacer forming material, and the spacer forming material is extended to a prescribed height to form the spacer.
