PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal distribution apparatus 20 which can be reduced in the number of parts and costs of a video distribution system 10 by performing on-screen display on two or more display apparatuses 30 using one OSD signal generating apparatus 23. SOLUTION: The video signal distribution apparatus 20 of this invention predetermines to make any of the two or more display apparatuses 30 perform displaying for each area of an on-screen image which is an image to be superimposed on a video, supplying the video and the on-screen image to each of the two or more display apparatuses 30, also supplying a signal for instructing the display apparatuses 30, which are made to display the area, to change over to the on-screen image for each area of the on-screen image synchronizing with a synchronous signal of the video.
