<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit for an air conditioner capable of realizing further thinning by realizing a flat front face design. <P>SOLUTION: An exterior package casing 1 is composed of a body casing part 4 housing a centrifugal fan 2 and an indoor side heat exchanger 3, and an extension casing part 6 extending the body casing part 4 to a back face side, and forming an intake chamber 5 in the back face side of the body casing part 4. The centrifugal fan 2 is arranged such that a rotary shaft 21 is in a fore and aft direction, a hub 22 faces a front plate 4a of the body casing part 4, and an inlet 24 of the centrifugal fan is communicated with the intake chamber 5 in the back face side of the body casing part 4. An indoor blowout opening 11 is provided in a side end in a front face side of the exterior package casing 1 being a downwind side of the indoor side heat exchanger 3, and indoor inlets 14, 15, and 16 are formed on the extension casing part to suck indoor air into the intake chamber 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
