PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical member having, on a substrate, dots made of a reflective material and designed to reflect high-intensity light, and to provide an image display device that allows data to be entered and exhibits good data entry sensitivity.SOLUTION: Disclosed is an optical member comprising a substrate 2 and dots 1 formed on a surface of the substrate, where the dots 1 is made of a liquid crystal material having a cholesteric structure, has wavelength-selective reflectivity, and reflects both right-handed and left-handed circularly polarized light of a wavelength that exhibits the wavelength-selective reflectivity.
