PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformer capable of preventing thermal runaway even after a long operation by reducing eddy current loss at a junction part of an iron core so that a temperature rising curve on the iron core tends to saturate.SOLUTION: The transformer is constituted of two iron core halves 12a and 12b abutted on each other, each of which has a generally U-like shape and has a window in the center. The transformer has a wound core 12 which has a generally rectangular shape, and plural wirings 22 and 22 assembled on the iron core 12. At the junction parts 14 at which two iron core halves 12a and 12b abutted on each other an insulation sheet 16 is inserted being interposed therebetween. The transformer is operated in a high frequency area exceeding a commercial frequency.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
