The present invention provides a liquid crystal display which is capable of implementing a minute pattern of an electrode which is disposed in a channel of a TFT in an LCD including a copper wiring line, and a method for manufacturing the same. A liquid crystal display according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: a first substrate; a gate line which is disposed on the first substrate, extends in a first direction, and includes a gate electrode; a gate insulating layer disposed on the gate line; a semiconductor stripe layer which is disposed on the gate insulating layer, extends in a second direction which is perpendicular to the first direction, and separated from the gate line; a semiconductor island layer which is disposed on the gate insulating layer, is separated from the semiconductor stripe layer, and overlaps the gate electrode; a data line which is disposed on the semiconductor stripe layer separated from the gate line; a source electrode and a drain electrode which are disposed on the semiconductor island layer to be separated from each other; an interlayer insulating layer which is disposed on the data line and the gate insulating layer and in which a data line exposure hole, through which exposes a part of the data line, is defined; a connecting member which is disposed on the interlayer insulating layer and is connected to data lines which are disposed on and below the gate line through the data line exposure hole in the plan view; and a pixel electrode which is disposed on the interlayer insulating layer and is separated from the connecting member, wherein the connecting member is directly connected to the source electrode and the pixel electrode is directly connected to the drain electrode. |
