A relief valve and a shock absorber using the same are provided to reduce the size of the product by installing one relief valve controlling the pressure and the direction of the liquid. A relief valve(110) comprises a housing(112) formed with first and second penetration holes(113,114); a variable path unit(115) installed in the housing formed with two orifices(116,117) moved by the pressure of the liquid flowed in the first and second penetration holes to selectively connect the first and second penetration holes; and an elastic member placed on the moving path of the variable path unit to elastically recover the variable path. The elastic member is formed with first and second springs(118a,118b) each mounted at the upper and lower parts of the variable path unit. |
