The present invention provides a face search system, which performs a face search by using a similar region extracted between two faces by comparing a non-screened part with face images stored in a database, when a face region is detected from a photographed image and a screened part is present in the detected face region. The face search system includes: a face region detecting unit for detecting a face region from an input image; a similar region extracting unit for extracting a similar region by extracting a feature point of the face region, and then comparing the extracted feature point with feature points of face images stored in a database when the detected face region is partly screened; and a control unit for searching for the face images stored in the database in a descending order of similarity by extracting a feature vector of the extracted similar region, and then comparing the extracted feature vector with feature vectors of the face images stored in the database. |
