PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a self-extinguishing material self-extinguished even if being fired, thus only generating a small amount of extinguishing smoke, and a self-extinguishing material produced thereby.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a self-extinguishing material comprising: a mixing step where water is mixed with boric acid, sesquicarbonate soda and citric acid to form a mixed liquid; a dissolution step where the mixed liquid is heated, and the boric acid, the sesquicarbonate soda and the citric acid are dissolved into the water to form a lysate; a slurrying step where the lysate is cooled so as to be a slurry; a separation step where a solution and crystals are separated from the slurry; and a pulverization step where the crystals are pulverized so as to be a powder shape.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
