The present invention provides a portable bed assembly including an upper bed (11) and a lower bed (12). Each upper and lower bed construction includes four assembly discs (13), two tubular assembly side members (14), a tubular head frame assembly (15, 16), a tubular foot frame assembly (15, 16) and a canvas or like flexible material bed support piece (22a, 22b). Each flexible bed support piece comprises end portions (40) and means (30a, 30b) for detachably connecting at least one of the end portions to the respective head or foot frame assembly, wherein the end portions are vertically disposed. The end portions of the flexible bed support provide a headrest and protective end piece to prevent an occupant from sliding through the head or foot end of the bed. The upper and lower beds may also be configured as two separate single beds. |
