PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of exploiting the function of an exhaust recirculation effectively while promoting the warming-up at a cold mode time.SOLUTION: An exhaust throttle valve is arranged in an exhaust passage, and an exhaust gas to flow to the position on an upstream side of the exhaust throttle valve in that exhaust passage is introduced into an intake passage by an exhaust recirculation passage. In the exhaust recirculation passage, there is arranged with a heat-exchanger, through which the heat of the exhaust gas to flow in the exhaust recirculation passage is applied through that heat exchanger to engine cooling water. A first flow regulating valve is arranged in an exhaust recirculation passage at a position downstream of the heat exchanger, so that the exhaust gas to flow between the heat exchanger in the exhaust recirculation passage and the first flow regulating valve is introduced to a position downstream of the exhaust throttle valve in the exhaust passage. The warming-up passage is arranged with a second flow regulating valve. Moreover, the individual opening changes of the exhaust throttle valve, the first flow regulating valve and the second flow regulating valve are controlled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
