Angular-momentum compensation for manual welding torches

The invention relates to angular-momentum compensation for MIG/MAG manual welding torches with fitted drive for the feed of an endless electrode wire. The aim is to enable manual welding torches of this type to be used for intermittent welding in particular. A manual welding torch is to be developed in which no troublesome angular momentum occurs during the operation. According to the invention, a drive motor and a wire feed mechanism are provided in a common housing, between which a spur or bevel gear transmission is arranged in such a way that the direction of rotation is reversed, the drive motor and wire feed mechanism being located on parallel, preferably identical, axes, and that a transmission ratio not equal to one is provided at a different moment of inertia of rotor and wire feed mechanism.
