PURPOSE:To reduce damped oscillation of a piezoelectic vibrator after the delivery of ink without lowering ink delivery rates. CONSTITUTION:There are provided an ink jet recording head which delivers ink droplets by expanding and contracting a pressure generating chamber formed from a nozzle plate and vibration plate by means of a piezoelectric vibrator 14, a constant-current circuit 40 which contracts the vibrator 14 at a specified rate to draw ink into the pressure generating chamber, a constant-current circuit 42 which extends the piezoelectric vibrator to cause ink droplets to fly from a nozzle opening by compressing the pressure generating chamber, and an extension control circuit 41 which actuates the action of the circuit 42 in two stages based on printing signals inputted into a terminal IN2.
