MANUFACTURE OF COPPER/ALUMINUM JOINED BODY

PURPOSE:To join an Al alloy member and a copper member in an excellent way. CONSTITUTION:The oxide film thickness of an Al-Si system alloy brazing filler material and that of an Al alloy member are adjusted to be 200Angstrom or less before heating for joining; and the Al-Si system alloy brazing filler material is arranged between the joining parts of the Al alloy member and a copper member; and these materials are heated in a vacuum of 10<-4>Torr or below and at a temperature of 500 to 550 deg.C for joining. Consequently, the Al alloy member and the copper member are joined in an excellent way. The method lays no restraint on shapes and also excels in dimensional precision.
