<p>PURPOSE: To provide a food slicer which can stably hold food even when the food becomes short, can prevent formation of off-specification slices due to the inclination of the food, and can enhance the yields of sliced food. CONSTITUTION: This food slicer includes: an end detection means 20 for detecting the end of a block of food H fed by a feed means 10; a holder 67 which can move along with the block of food H in the feed direction of the feed means 10 and be attached to and removed from the block of food H by moving back and forth in a direction approximately perpendicular to the feed direction; and a control means which causes the holder 67 to be inserted into the end of the block of food H according to a detection signal of the end detection means 20 and operates the holder 67 so that while holding the block of food H, the holder 67 accompanies the block of food until the end of the block arrives near a rotary blade 31.</p> |
