Separator for reclaiming glass from mixed scrap

The separator has an inclined rotating drum (4) which is partly submerged in a water bath (2) and which has a feed hopper (15) into which shredded mixed scrap materials are fed. Glass and other small particles fall, through slots (5) which are a little wider than the thickness of the glass, into the bath and are extracted on a conveyor (8). Larger items pass from the open end (7) of the drum onto a second conveyor (9). A circulating system (16,17) stimulates water flow towards a third conveyor (10) which removes floating and suspended matter.
