PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a still picture controller which can perform a screen display when a picture for an identification photograph is shown on a vertically long monitor. SOLUTION: This still picture controller is provided with a camera 1 which picks up an image of an object, memory 18 which stores picture data, a system controller 12 which generates character data in the control of the picture data, a monitor 8 which shows a picture and characters of the character data and a printer 21 which prints a picture based on the character data, and rotates the characters to the picture and shows them when the picture and characters are shown on the monitor 8. Because the controller can rotate the display of the characters in accordance with the direction of the picture in printing, it generates the characters in such a direction that an operator easily reads them and it can improve its operability. |
