PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic fuel cell from which gas leakage due to cracks and crevices on plate bodies composing cell stacks having no inner manifold is prevented and which has superior electric power generating property and durability. SOLUTION: This fuel cell comprises cells 3 and a first and a second plate- like bodies 4, 5, and each of the cells is constituted of a three layer film 1 comprising a solid electrolytic substance membrane, an air electrode, and a fuel electrode and a separator provide with a gas flow route in one side and attached to the air electrode or the fuel electrode and the plate-like bodies 4, 5 compose an inner manifold to house the cells 3 and supply and discharge gases to and from the cells 3. In order to eliminate the difference in the thermal expansion coefficients of the first and the second plate-like bodies 4, 5, the first and the second plate-like bodies 4, 5 are made of metals or alloys and a member made of a metal or an alloy with higher thermal expansion coefficient than that of the second plate-like body 5 is interposed in a part of the second plate-like body 5, where the second plate-like body 5 is brought into contact with a cell 3. |
