PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink being excellent in water resistance and improved in print density, stability, non-plugging properties and rubbing resistance of a print by including a water-soluble compound such as N-methylglycine, N,N,N- trimethylglycine or urea, an amino acid (salt) and a polymer emulsion. SOLUTION: This ink contains a substantially water-soluble compound of formula I, II or III (wherein R1 to R4 are each H, a 1-5C hydrocarbon group or an acyl; R is a 1-5C alkylene; and M is hydrogen, an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal), at least one compound selected from amino acids (salts therof) and a polymer emulsion. It is desirable that the compound of formula I is N-methylglycine, the compound of formula II is N,N,N-trimethylglycine, and the compound of formula III is urea, for they have high water solubility. The amino acids are desirably β-alanine and alginine. The polymer emulsion used is a colored one. |
