PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce curl by selectively operating two adjacent curl removal nips or not operating both of them. SOLUTION: Two pairs of drive rolls 204, 304 and pinch shafts 202, 302 are arranged opposingly to form a bending nip. A clearance between two opposing nips forms a linear paper path. Shafts of two drive rolls 204, 304 are fixed on a side frame. However, two opposing pinch shafts 202, 302 are connected by two end caps so that they can move vertically for the drive rolls. Consequently, the first pair forms the bending nip which bends insertion sheet curled upward reversely for engagement, and an end cap moves to form a first nip, thereby opening the second pair. |
