PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and lightweight towing protective device for an optical cable. SOLUTION: A terminal part 6 of an optical fiber 1 and an optical fiber tape coated fiber 4 drawn out from the terminal part 6 are liquid-tightly housed in a waterproof package 30. A fiber turning up member 22 is housed in the waterproof package 30. One end of a towing line 8 is connected to a tension member 5 of the optical cable 1, and the other end of the towing line 8 is connected to a towing end 17 through the fiber turning up member 22. The fiber turning up member 22 is fixed to the towing line 8. The optical fiber tape coated fiber 4 drawn from the terminal part 6 is coated with a protective tube 31, wound on the half periphery of a turn-up winding body part of the fiber turning up member 22 at a place where it is drawn to the fiber turning up member 22, and turned up into a U shape. A turn-up terminal 35 is fixed to a fixed ring 34 of a fixture 33. The coated optical fiber tape coated fiber 4 is spirally and longitudinally laid along the towing line 8 and drawn out. |
