摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent a hunting at operating an accelerator pedal by respectively obtaining the maximum wheel driving force in a high speed stage and the total resistance of gradient resistance and running resistance, and prohibiting shifting corresponding an up-shift command when the maximum wheel driving force is smaller than the total resistance. SOLUTION: During driving a vehicle, a controller 11 detects the shifting mode during selection from output of a shifting mode switch 16, and an appropriate shift matched to the detected result of the present operating condition including vehicle speed and a throttle opening is decided. This appropriate shift stage and a shift stage during selection at present are compared with each other to judge necessity of shifting. When an up-shift command is output, maximum wheel driving force F is obtained based on an engine load corresponding to present vehicle speed on the down-shift line in a high speed stage in a shifting pattern or the gear ratio of the high speed stage. The maximum wheel driving force F is compared with the total resistance R of gradient resistance and running resistance, and in the case of R<F, shifting corresponding to the up-shift command is prohibited.
