PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decompose dioxins (dioxin and furan) by extracting the dioxins from materials contaminated with the dioxins by an organic solvent and irradiat ing the solvent containing the extracted dioxins with radiation. SOLUTION: The dioxins are removed into the organic solvent by extracting the materials or liquids contaminated with the dioxins by the organic solvent. The dioxins are decomposed by irradiating the solvent containing the extracted dioxins with radiation while putting the solvent into a vessel made of a radiation-resistant material (glass, metal, etc.), or circulating the solvent in the vessel by a pump, etc.
