<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deviation of a preserved picture and a thumbnail picture by preparing a thumbnail picture with a picture whose phase is totally common to that of the preserved picture. SOLUTION: A picture recording device 1 is provided with a first frame memory 4 for freezing a digital picture signal, a still picture compressing/ defrosting part 5 equipped with a function for compressing/extending the digital picture signal for picture preservation, or for preparing the thumbnail picture by reducing the picture, a VRAM 6 functioning as a work memory at the time of compressing the picture or reducing the picture by the still picture compressing/defrosting part 5, a PC card I/F 11 for inputting and outputting picture data or the like to a PC card 10; and a system control unit 13 for controlling the whole picture recording device, and for controlling the transfer of picture data between the still picture compressing/defrosting part 5 and the PC card I/F 11.</p> |
