Radio waves are transmitted and received by at least one antenna element extending through the antenna casing. The antenna is in the form of a hollow waveguide with a radiating opening, and pin-like elements within the guide. The transmission and receiving of the radio waves takes place in a direction opposite to the direction in which the casing opening is oriented, this opening being oriented at an angle relative to the casing.
