PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel camera head which can revise initial settings in matching with a connected main body in itself through the discrimination of various information items of the connected main body in an imaging apparatus of a camera head separation type. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is configured so that a joining means between the camera head and the main body is included, wherein the main body includes a function instruction means such as a key SW and a remote controller, the joining means includes a main body information transmission means which allows the main body to output various information items to the camera head, and the camera head includes a main body information discrimination means for discriminating the various information items transmitted from a camera control section, and a camera head operation revision means for revising the operation of the camera head.
