The updraft collector unit consists of at least one rearward-offset channel system (2) above the collector surface (1), by which the winds (3) flowing over the collector, and also the thermal updrafts which occur, are trapped and directed to a rotor (4) fitted behind the channel system. The positioning of the channel system depends on the angle of the collector surface.
