PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a fine honeycomb structure in which expansion time and expansion amount of many adjacent independent shells are nearly equal, honeycomb structures formed by many independent shells can be grown in a balanced manner, and further the honeycomb structure is solidified rapidly, while maintaining its shape, and thus the fine and slender honeycomb structures having a thin partition wall thickness are formed. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the fine honeycomb structure comprises a first process of covering a surface of a first substrate wherein the predetermined plural independent concave portion are arranged at the desired position, by the use of a first material having a plastic deformation function under the predetermined condition, so as to form a space on the concave portion of the first substrate, and a second process of forming a plurality of thin and slender cavities unidirectionally by carrying out a simultaneous expansion extension of the first material due to a gas pressure of the space.
