PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tuner having attenuation function which improves a multichannel property to a broadcast signal with strong electric field received from a cable broadcasting station. SOLUTION: In this tuner having attenuation function, an attenuation unit is installed which attenuates electric power of a broadcast signal received from a broadcasting station and outputs the signal when electric power value of the broadcast signal received from the broadcasting station exceeds a strong electric field threshold value. By the configuration, even if a broadcast signal greater than strong electric field is received, power level of the broadcast signal concerned is lowered, and interference between channels by broadcast signals of strong electric field can be eliminated, so that stable broadcast video image can be offered.
