A bonded piston seal having a rubbery elastomer seal vulcanization-bonded to an area other than the portion of metal ring where the other party seal member slides, the rubbery elastomer seal partially bonded by means of an adhesive layer to the metal ring, wherein the adhesive layer comprises (a) undercoat adhesive layer containing a phenolic resin and an epoxy resin and (b) overcoat adhesive layer containing a phenolic resin, a halogenated polymer and a metal oxide. By virtue of the laying of the component (a) undercoat adhesive layer and component (b) overcoat adhesive layer, there can be attained not only excellence in initial bonding but also excellent water resistance.
