PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal mechanism capable of preventing abrasion of thin plate seal pieces due to contact with a rotating shaft by suppressing deformation caused by pressing force even when the pressing force acts on the thin plate seal pieces.SOLUTION: A shaft seal mechanism 11 for blocking a fluid G flowing in an annular space 14, includes an annular seal housing 21 disposed on a fixed portion 12, a plurality of thin plate seal pieces 22 annularly stacked while being fixed to the seal housing 21 at outer peripheral-side basic end portions 22a and slidably kept into contact with a rotating shaft 13 at inner peripheral-side tip portions 22b, an annular high pressure-side plate 25 disposed with a high pressure-side clearance δH, an annular low pressure-side plate 26 disposed with a low pressure-side clearance δL, step portions 31, 32 formed on a high pressure-side side edge portion 22c and a low pressure-side side edge portion 22d, and locking portions 25b, 26b formed on the high pressure-side plate 25 and the low pressure-side plate 26, and locking the step portions 31, 32 from a rotating shaft radial inner side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
