PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor with an electromagnetic brake performing self-diagnosis of the electromagnetic brake in which micro-slip occurs, and to provide a self-diagnosis method of a motor with an electromagnetic brake.SOLUTION: A drive unit 3 acquires a first rotational position of a motor rotor from rotation detection means, i.e., a rotational position detector 24. The drive unit 3 applies a torque to the motor rotor so that a predetermined torque is obtained while braking the output shaft by means of an electromagnetic brake 5. After releasing application of torque to the motor rotor reached to a predetermined torque TD, the drive unit 3 acquires a second rotational position of a motor rotor from the rotational position detector 24. The drive unit 3 calculates the amount of deviation, i.e., the difference of the first rotational position and second rotational position, and then performs self-diagnosis on the basis of the amount of deviation. |
