<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple optical protection system in an optical wavelength add/drop module for solving a problem, wherein the cost and mounting space are increased and service-in is delayed, because an optical switch or an optical switch control circuit is required to be arranged individually in the front and the rear of an optical transmitter/receiver performing optical protection. <P>SOLUTION: Optical protection is realized by making possible to control add switches 105-1 to 105-N and optical drop switches 103-1 to 103-N for the optical signal of respective wavelengths in an optical wavelength add/drop module 100 independently, and switching the add switch and drop switch of the optical wavelength add/drop devices on the operating side and the stand-by side for detouring faults, by means of optical switch control circuits 106-1 to 106-N. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
