DEVELOPING DEVICE, DEVELOPING UNIT, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a humidity environment in a developing device with power of the lowest possible level during night (when a power source is off) in which there is a possibility that the peripheral environment of an image forming apparatus is greatly changed.

SOLUTION: The developing device of the electrophotographic image forming apparatus that uses a dry developer is provided with a humidity control device 50 that can control humidity in the developing device 40 when the power source of the main body of the apparatus is turned off. A humidity control means includes a shutter that is driven by the supply of power from an auxiliary power source 62 different from the main power source 63 of the main body and closes the opening of the developing device when the power source of the main body of the apparatus is off. The developing device includes a gas introducing means for introducing gas such as dry air into the developing device at a termination sequence when the power source of the main body is turned off.
